Members,
First of all may I take this opportunity to thank you for your support of the club in 2018 and may I wish you a happy and prosperous 2019.
I am writing this communication as chairman of the cricket club to all our social members following our recent Annual General Meeting.
You may be aware that the club is registered as a Community Amateur Sports Club (CASC) which brings a number of financial benefits to cricket clubs. We have recently received clarification regarding the categories of club membership that enables us to continue to receive these benefits which we are able to put back into improving the club’s facilities.
While the social membership scheme, introduced last year, was extremely successful we do not feel it necessary to ask supporters of the club to ‘sign up’ for this membership in 2019.
The club is wholly run by volunteers and this will also help us considerably in minimising the paperwork and time & effort involved with CASC.
So what does this mean to you! well very little really, you are still very welcome at the club at any time during our opening hours and will not have to pay the membership fee. We have simplified the pricing structure and there will be one price for all on the drinks, which have risen very slightly but is the first such change since we opened in 2016, you will also still be able to hire the club facilities as usual by contacting Chris Todd.
The member’s evenings for the current year will still go ahead and are being planned for two dates in February. More details of these evenings will be confirmed to you very shortly.
I would like to finish by again thanking you for your support of the cricket club and hope we will continue to see you at the ground and using our facilities in the summer.

Chairman
