Annual Awards Criteria

 

1st XI and 2nd XI Batting – average winners

These awards are won by the players with the best batting average over the season.  The club use the Craven League end of season averages. 

In the event the club has no qualifiers the club committee will decide on the winners taking into account games played , innings completed and runs scored.

1st XI and 2nd XI Bowling – average winners

These awards are won by the players with the best bowling average over the season.  The club use the Craven League end of season averages.

In the event the club has no qualifiers the club committee will decide on the winners taking into account games played , overs bowled and wickets taken.

All Rounder of the Season

This award is decided by the club committee and considers player performance with bat, ball and in the field.

Club Batsman of the Season

This award is decided by the club committee and considers the 1st XI and 2nd XI batting performances over the season and in individual games.

Club Bowler of the Season

This award is decided by the club committee and considers the 1st XI and 2nd XI bowling performances over the season and in individual games.

Player of the Year Award

This trophy is decided by the club committee and is awarded to the player deemed to have contributed the most outstanding overall performance on the field over the season.  

The Alan Happs Trophy

This trophy was donated by the family of the late Alan Happs a former longstanding committee member of the club. The trophy is awarded to the most outstanding performances by a younger player.

The Les Town Memorial Trophy

This trophy was donated by the family of the late former Sutton player Les Town and is awarded to the most encouraging and improving performance by a younger player.

The award recognises more than just the player statistics but other elements the player has demonstrated during the season.

The Michael Briggs Memorial Trophy

This trophy has been donated in 2019 by the family of the late former Sutton player.  The trophy is awarded to the player who has demonstrated commitment and enthusiasm during the season.

Bateman Trophy   

The Bateman Trophy was donated over 50 years ago by the family of a notable Sutton businessman.  This trophy is awarded for a significant contribution in support of the club.
